Your invitation to Lux Pacifica 2013
Bangkok will host the 7th quadrennial Lux Pacifica Conference from 6-8 March 2013. I am inviting you to attend this important regional event supported by the lighting design and scientific societies from around the Pacific Rim, as well as, India and South Africa.
This is a great opportunity to meet colleagues from the region and to network with designers, educators, manufacturers and students. An interesting papers and social program has been devised and Bangkok offers a host of cultural opportunities.
I hope to see you in Bangkok for this important lighting event.

Welcome Message
On behalf of Illuminating Engineering Association of Thailand ( TIEA ), the host for the 7th Lux Pacifica 2013, we would like to extend a warm welcome to all participants of the 7th Lux Pacifica conference. This is a conference by lighting expert members of the Asia Pacific that has a population of more than two thirds of the world population. It will be held in Bangkok on 6-8 March 2013 at the Imperial Queen’s Park Hotel which the aims of the conference is as follows,
1. Coordinate and cooperate among its members for mutual benefit in lighting
2. Exchange of idea and experience of international experts
3. Support and cooperation for potential collaborative projects
4. Strengthen relationship and competencies among lighting researchers, educators, designers, and stakeholders together for mutual benefit
5. Provide support to improve lighting industry through members
6. Advance good environment developing roles.
7. Build international confidence
Illuminating Engineering Association of Thailand (TIEA) joined the Lux Pacifica and was honored to host of the 2nd Lux Pacifica Conference in Bangkok on November 10-13, 1993 after the 1st meeting that was held in Shanghai, China. TIEA then attended the 3rd conference in Nagoya, Japan in 1997 and the 5th in Cairns, Australia in 2005. On the 6th conference, it was planned to hold in Khabarovsk, Russia but due to some reasons, the venue had suddenly been changed to Bangkok. From the Lux Pacifica board meeting at the 6th conference, Thailand has been honored by the board to host the 7thLux Pacifica Conference.
We are pleased to welcome you to Bangkok with the friendliness and respect to ensure that your time with us is full of enjoyment and memorable experience. With a great cooperation from the Imperial Queen’s Park hotel, it has been chosen as a conference place and the accommodation for Lux Pacifica participants. The hotel is equipped with good facilities for attendees and accompanying persons as well. We will take you to a boat for dinner cruise along the Chao Phraya River. Guests will enjoy a taste of Thai food and the beauty of decorative lighting during the trip. There are many attractions around Thailand such as good golf courses, magnificent white sandy beaches, floating markets, and cultural activities. Beautiful art and craft as well as local products are available in many shopping places as souvenirs with reasonable price.
In closing I would like to thank all of our support. I wish you all the best of luck, and hope you enjoy the conference and your stay in Thailand.
